Custom URL

When a user clicks the WhatsApp button, it navigates to the link added at the custom URL. For Desktop and Mobile Devices, we can add separate Custom URLs.

Navigate to ‘Click to Chat’ – scroll down to URL Structure.

This feature is available in PRO Version

(page level settings for custom url – we are planning to release sooner)

The plugin considers Custom URLs to be the highest priority. When a custom url is specified, the plugin ignores the WhatsApp number and prefilled message.

The below priority level illustrates how the plugin considers the WhatsApp number and Custom URLs. Below are the occurrences and outcomes when clicked on the WhatsApp icon on the web page.

  1. Page level Custom URL -If a Custom URL is set at page level settings ( plugin ignores the Page level WhatsApp number, page level Pre-filled message, WhatsApp number at click to chat settings, pre-filled at click to chat settings)
  2. Page-level WhatsApp Number – If no Page-level Custom URL is set, then the plugin looks for the Page-level WhatsApp Number and Page-level Pre-filled message.
  3. Custom URL at Click to Chat settings – This appears when clicked on the WhatsApp icon only when there are no Page-level Custom URL and page-level WhatsApp number.
  4. WhatsApp Number at Click to Chat settings – This displays only when there is no page-level Custom URL, page-level WhatsApp number, and click to chat – Custom URL.
